Parking in general @ Mechelen

    Here extra information about parking.

    • Mechelen is not car friendly.
    • Parking must be paid daily, including Sundays and holidays.
    • Parking is free from 8pm to 8am (20.00 until 08.00).
    • It’s not possible to pay for an entire day at once. Depending on the location, a maximum of 2 or 4 hours can be paid in advance.
    • The parking rate is €8.9 for 4 hours.

     

    • The traffic situation in Mechelen has changed drastically and the ring road around Mechelen is now one-way.
    • Please use Waze for GPS, it is better than Google maps.
    • Do not trust build-in GPS in your car if it is older than 2 years…

     

    • During day it is easy to find a parking spot, but payable every 2-hours.
    • In the evening, its free, but harder to find.

     

    • We always suggest taking un underground parking.
    • Cheaper and easy to use. € 15 for 24 hours.
    • Albert Rooms: At les than 100 meter you will find Parking Indigo Mechelen Sint Maarten (just right around the corner).
    • Astrid Flats: Across the street Parking Indido Mechele Comet

     

    • Parking is free @ Douaneplein (30 min walk).

    Because parking is a revenue model for the city of Mechelen, there are many checks for offences.
